　この博物館は航空に関するさまざまな資料を集めた、日本で初めての施設で、鉄筋コシタリート2階建て（一部5階建て）、延べ面積は32100平方メートル。日本で最初に飛行したアンーファルマン複葉機か原寸に復元ざれ展示されている他、DC-8シミュレーターなど飛行機の操作を体験できる装置も設置されています。また展望展示室からは成田空港の滑走路や離着陸する飛行機が一望できます。

This museum. the first aviation museum in Jaoan. exhibits various matenals relating to avlation. With a floor space of 3.200 sauare meters. the building is two stoned. ferro-concret made with an observ-atory lounge five stories high The exhibits include a full-size replica of the Henri Farman biplane which made the first flight in Japan You can also experience aeronautical practice with a DC-8 slmu'ator From the observatory lounge. you can enjoy a vlew of alrplanes landing and taking off on the runway of rvarita Airport.

　はにわ祭は、現代の人々が忘れている古代の素晴しさを振り返り、思い起こすために1982年に新たにつくりだざれたものです。町民参加のもとに、古代人が町をねり歩き、様々なイベントが行われます。。毎年11月第2日曜日に開催されます。

This festival was created in 1982, so that we contemporary people can look back, recall and appreciate the legacy of our ancient heritage. There is the parade of the ancients through the town and many other events with all the towns-people particlpating. It is held each year on the second Sunday of November.

　自然に囲まれた落ちついた中にも、野球場、ミニアスレチックなど様々な施設があり、子供から大人まで十分楽しむことができます。また古墳はにわ博物館や芝山仁王尊に隣接しており、歴史文化にも親しめます。

This park set amidst the natural surroundings of open fields and woods has a baseball field and a small athletic ground. Not only children but adults can enjoy the many amenities. It is located near the Haniwa Museum and Kannonkyo Temple where one can also learn about the old history and the culture of the area.

　博物館には、千葉県内から出土した埴輪や古墳時代の考古遺物が展示されています。そのほか館内では、復元された住居などによって古代をかいま見ることができます。

The museum displays various Haniwa (clayware) and archaeological remains of the Kofun period unearthed in Chiba Prefecture. You can also take a look on ancestors' Iife with the old dewelling reconstructed with in the museum.

　芝山町周辺には数多くの古墳が確認されていますが、その中で最も太きな前方後円墳であり、古墳時代後期のものといわれています。また、この古墳からは全国ではじめて形象はにわの行列が発見されましたが、これらのはにわは日本を代表するものといわれています。

Ma����ld tombs have been found in Shibayama machi. TONOZUKA and HIMEZUKA are two of the biggest of them all. They are of the ZENPOUKOUENFUN form (the form of old tombs, front square -back round) of the later tumulus period. A procession of figurative haniwa were discovered for the first time and has become renown throughout Japan as a most representative collection.

　西暦781年に創建された観音教寺は、古くから芝山仁王尊の名で呼び親しまれ、仁王門に安置されている仁王尊像が広く知られています。また境内にある三重塔も県内有数の有形文化財として有名です。

The temple of Kannonkyo was built in 781. It is popularly known as Shibayama Nioson because the two statues of NIOSON are enshrined in the great gate of NIO. SANJUNOTO (the threestorled pagoda) in the grounds is one of the most famous cultural assets in Chiba prefecture.
